In today’s busy world, we tend to eat breakfast on-the-go whether that’s a pastry or a quick bowl of cereal. While these foods can certainly be enjoyed from time to time, they’re not always the best choice to start your day since they are often highly processed, meaning they come with added sugar and simple carbs that break down quickly, causing sharp spikes in blood sugar levels.

Instead, reaching for fiber-richcomplex carbs like whole grains that are balanced with protein from eggs, meat or beans and a healthy source of fat like avocado is a much more filling and nutrient-dense meal.

These five breakfast recipes provide less than 20 grams of carbs and just enough protein and healthy fat to keep you fueled all morning long.
