With just 50 calories and only 1 gram of sugar, this hot chocolate’s flavor boost comes from the chai spice. Sweetened vanilla almond milk lends a silky sweetness, but you can use unsweetened almond milk if you’re avoiding added sugar.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups (480 ml) vanilla almond milk, sweetened
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) chai spice

Directions

Place all ingredients in a medium-sized saucepan. Bring to a rolling boil and stir until spices and cocoa powder have dissolved. Reduce heat and let simmer for 3–5 minutes.
