Slow Cooker Chicken Tikka Masala

This is a great slow-cooker dish that comes together pretty easily. It’s super flavorful with healthy spices like ginger, turmeric and cumin. Feel free to substitute chicken breast instead of thighs.

    That’s not a Tikka Masala AT ALL

    To be called Tikka it has to include chicken that has been cooked in a tandoor

    This is just a very very basic curry recipe. How you can do a curru without garlic and onions is completely beyond me.

    Just made this. Unpalatable in just about every way. No salt, spices were overpowering, not creamy at all (though this is almost forgivable as it’s supposed to be low cal count). Look at any other Tikka Masala recipe, measuring spices in single teaspoons rather than tablespoons. Luckily I was able to salvage some of the chicken but not the ~$15 in spices required to make this garbage.

    This is probably one of the worst recipes I ever tasted. The cumin is so overpowering and yet the dish is extremely bland. The ginger, coconut milk and other spices get so lost that they seem non-existent. I was looking forward to taking left overs to work and now I’m pretty much scrapping the entire pot. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO MAKE THIS.

    Overpowering doesn’t even describe how strong one of the spices makes this! I wish I had read comments before making – drained half the sauce and then substituted with pasatta to make it bareable. Smells lovely and looks great, shame about the taste 🙁
