What 1,500 Calories Looks Like (Back-to-School Edition)

The end of summer is synonymous with back-to-school season, and whether you have kids or not, it’s a busy time. That’s where extra planning pays off, especially when you’re trying to prepare healthy, homemade meals for you and your family. That’s why we’ve put together this sample 1,500-calorie meal plan featuring quick and easy meals you (and your kids) will love.

The key to eating healthy during busy times is working with balanced recipes — meals you can make over the weekend, throw into a slow cooker, pack the night before or blend together in less than a minute. This menu does just that, taking advantage of nutritious whole foods like fruits, veggies, whole grains and lean proteins.
