Code green! Code green! NYC (and the Northeast in general) is officially on high alert!

Due to the blizzard? Sure, there’s that. But there’s also a KALE SHORTAGE!!!

And this is a serious situation.

Some cringe at the thought of this leafy green, but others (ahem, Beyoncé) know the truth: if you’re trapped in the house, you can make a kale soup, a kale salad, kale chips, kale pesto…you get the point. We took a look at our database and found that January in general appears to be a strong kale month year after year. It was even served at the Super Bowl last year, so it should be of no surprise that people are going crazy for kale.

…you’d be more than a little upset if you saw this atrocity when you got inside:

It was all fun and games when everyone was being a bit silly about the run on kale.

But then it got real.

Breaking News! Attention Brooklyn: Your cries have been heard, and your needs will be met.

For the rest of you, good luck.

And on a serious note, Northeasters, stay safe.
