Wanna set a food alarm to wake up your family? Crispy French toast sticks from Fit Foodie Finds will do the trick! Made with just 6 ingredients, this morning finger food can be dunked headfirst into maple syrup or fruit yogurt. Enjoy with a side of fresh fruit or a hard-boiled egg.

French Toast Sticks

Ingredients

  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 cup (240ml) unsweetened almond milk (or milk of choice)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • 8 slices 100% whole-grain bread

Directions

Begin by whisking together eggs, almond milk, vanilla, cinnamon and maple syrup. Then prep bread by cutting each slice into 4 strips. Set aside.

Spray a skillet with cooking oil; heat skillet on medium heat.

Dunk each piece of bread into the egg mixture, making sure each piece is generously coated on both sides. Place on the skillet, and cook for about 3–5 minutes, or until the bottom turns golden brown. Flip and continue cooking for about 3–5 minutes, until the second side is golden brown.
