In This Article

For our August Member of the Month contest, we posed this question: what role has exercised played in helping you achieve your health wins?

In reply, hundreds of you sent in dynamic and inspiring photos of yourselves living life to the fullest. We can’t express how grateful we are to be a part of your individual journeys and lives.

The time has come for us to issue congratulations to Dan, MyFitnessPal’s August Member of the Month!  Dan cites running, Crossfit and MyFitnessPal for helping him lose 70 pounds in less than a year.  Here’s Dan in action:

Dan wrote:

Eight months ago I weighed in at 240 pounds and panted walking up the stairs at work. I started training for a Spartan Race with a couple friends in conjunction with MyFitnessPal. After a couple months I was running 5k distances on a regular basis as well as incorporating some cross fit exercises. I currently am down 70 pounds, and I run a workout group of 20 people at work during lunch time. I just completed the Spartan Sprint New England. Exercise is a part of my daily life and I put together a workout of the day, each and every day, keeping it fresh and inspiring by example.

In addition to the reward of great health, Dan will also receive a Runtastic Heart Rate Combo Monitor, a Runtastic Sports Armband and a one-year Runtastic Gold Membership!

Thanks to Dan and all of you who entered our August contest. Join us on Facebook for details about this month’s contest, coming soon!
