While fruits, veggies and nuts are great naturally gluten-free snacks, finding healthy packaged options at the grocery store can sometimes be a challenge. Many are high in calories and loaded with added sugar and saturated fats. These Trader Joe’s gluten-free snacks are both tasty and nutritious (as well as kid-friendly), making them perfect to pack in lunchboxes or for an after-school snack.

Why they made the cut: These kale chips are made with nutritious, easy-to-pronounce ingredients like kale, cashews and sunflower seeds. The result is a satisfying, savory alternative chip packed with 3 grams of fiber and 6 grams of protein per serving.

Why they made the cut: These crunchy snacks use peas for satiating fiber and protein — each serving has 4 and 5 grams, respectively. They’re light, crispy and savory (almost like cheese puffs), but since the main ingredient is green peas, you get all of the satisfaction without any gluten.

Why it made the cut: This trail mix is packed with healthy fats and protein from an assortment of nuts, and it gets natural sweetness from raisins. It has the lowest sugar count of all the trail mixes available at Trader Joe’s with just 5 grams per serving.

Why it made the cut: When you need a more substantial snack, these egg frittatas are the way to go. Each frittata offers 25 grams of protein and 10 grams of carbs per serving. You can also keep them in the freezer at home or the office for when you need a boost of energy between meals.

Why it made the cut: Swapping pita chips for beet chips makes this combo gluten-free and adds extra antioxidants and iron. Paired with savory, garlicky hummus, the snack totals 9 grams of filling fiber and 5 grams of protein per serving.

Why it made the cut: These convenient bars have just five ingredients: dates, peanuts, peanut butter, flaxseeds and salt. They taste like a peanut butter cookie but are more nutritious and filling, with 4 grams of protein and just 160 calories per bar.

Why it made the cut: These thin, crispy gluten-free crackers clock in at just 160 calories per serving of 17 crackers and contain 2 grams of protein. Since the decadent Trader Joe’s Mini Brie Bites are pre-portioned into mini wheels with just 70 calories, you get a comforting, satiating combo for 230 calories.
