Did You Know You Can Add & Rename Meals in MyFitnessPal?

In This Article

Hi guys, I’m back with another MyFitnessPal user power tip!

To get you up and running on Day One, every new MyFitnessPal account offers slots for logging Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, and Snacks. We’ve learned over the past few years that these are the typical slots users want to see—and most users don’t seem to have any desire to change them. But, like many others areas of the app, these meal names can be customized to meet your personal needs. You can even add up to two additional meal slots.

Personally, my meals are Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Snacks, Beverages, and Supplements. But you can feel free to be as creative as you’d like—maybe you’d rather call Breakfast your Morning Munch, for example. You can name your meals to suit your eating habits, just note that the name change will affect every day of your diary; it’s not possible to have different meal names on different days.

Here’s how to add and rename meals in MyFitnessPal in two simple steps.

Step 1: Login to MyFitnessPal To get started, you’ll need to access your MyFitnessPal account in a web browser. If you predominantly use the web version of MyFitnessPal, you may have already figured out how to rename your meals. For those of you on mobile only, here’s a reason to get cozy with your computer for a few minutes.

Step 2: Add and rename meals Once you’ve logged in, click “My Home”, then “Settings”, then “Diary Settings.” There you can change your existing meal names, and add meals to the two optional slots. The next time you log in on the web or one of our mobile apps, your diary will reflect the changes.

What have you named your meals? Share your choices in the comments!
