Pineapple Turmeric Cleanser

With sweet pineapple, zesty ginger and much-buzzed about turmeric, this refreshing drink is full of immune-boosting nutrients like vitamin A and C, as well as de-bloating bromelain to help you recover from those holiday and New Year’s parties. Serve alongside an egg sandwich for a well-balanced breakfast or whip up as a refreshing post-workout elixir.

Ingredients

1 cup (240 ml) fresh pineapple, cubed
1-inch piece fresh ginger, peeled and minced
1 tablespoon (15 ml) fresh lime juice
1 teaspoon (5 ml) sugar (or 1 packet Stevia In The Raw)
1/2 teaspoon (2.5 ml) turmeric
Pinch cayenne pepper
1/4 cup (60 ml) water
Lime wheel (for garnish)
Pineapple wedge (for garnish)

Directions

In a blender, combine pineapple, ginger, lime juice, sugar or Stevia in the Raw, turmeric, cayenne and 1/4 cup water. Blend until smooth.

Pour into a glass and garnish with lime wheel and pineapple, if desired.
